DHSC: Department of Health and Social Care

The Department of Health and Social Care, or the DHSC, is a ministerial department of the UK government. Its primary responsibility is to set the national healthcare plan and support the NHS.

The Department of Health and Social Care sets the health care strategy for the UK. All ministerial departments support the DHSC. As a ministerial department, the DHSC provides funding, sets policy, and regulates health and social care systems across the UK.

The DHSC is the UK government's ministerial department that funds the NHS. NHS England is the DHSCs arm-length body leading the NHS. NHS England allocates funding to different health services and parts of the NHS.
